Cricket
We follow a rolling programme in the Summer Term to Years 4 to 6. In order to build on and reinforce key skills, and competitive values, we follow a similar programme for all year groups building on the previous years’ skill base.
At the beginning of every year, the boys are reassessed that there is healthy internal movement between teams and the individual improvement is acknowledged.
Each child will regularly represent the school in competitive matches irrespective of ability through a diverse fixture list. Sporting values are taught explicitly to all boys regardless of ability.
Key objectives:
Batting
Bowling
Fielding
Catching
Positional Play
Positional Skills
Small Sided Games such as Supersmash
Tactical awareness and laws of the Game
Preparation for internal and external competitive matches
Boys are taught in small groups with a high adult to child ratio at the UCS Sports Ground at Farm Avenue, NW2 2BH.
It is a health and safety requirement that boys have the required equipment: A cricket box is required when playing with a hard ball. Whilst a pupil may bring his own equipment ( such as bat, etc) the school will supply anything that if required if the occasion arises. Whites are required if your son is playing in inter school matches for Y5 and 6. However, for Y4 can wear their white PE kit if necessary.
