A filmmaking course that you might be interested in. The following is a message from LemonWedge Film Academy:
As a licenced skills provider we’ve devised the 13 week course covering the bronze and silver skills section of their DofE award. Our “Introduction to Filmmaking” covers the basic elements of production and how the students can learn transferable skills. Past successful students have even been inspired to create their own YouTube channels to showcase their films.
It’s both creative and technical, designed so the students can work at their own pace around other activities, and as per the DofE ethos it is achievable for all students. We offer support and feedback from our assessment team to help keep them on track, as well as producing and uploading a detailed end of course report that outlines what they’ve completed during the course and present them with a certificate.
Not only will it give the students a taste of the roles that go into production but also help them develop:
Self confidence
Creative expression
Storytelling
Time management
Scheduling
Working as part of a team; students have used family and friends to help them in the past.
We’ve had over 80 students complete the course already, with parents and students giving us terrific feedback:
Well I can say, from our point of view, that you pitched it perfectly for a 14 year old (and 47 year old!)....I’ve fed back to school that it was an incredibly positive experience and recommended that they suggest LemonWedge to the next cohort. (Lucy)
I want to say thank you for letting me onto this course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have learnt lots of valuable new skills that I can use in lots of areas. (Brandon)
LemonWedge Film Academy has been an amazing experience and well-rounded insight into the process of filmmaking. There is a perfect balance of learning and creating, and you have a lot of freedom to choose what you produce. I would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys being creative and trying something new! (Emily)
As well as running a production company we also operate clubs in six schools so we understand all about teaching children filmmaking.
We are available, via Zoom, for any interested students that might have more questions or if you would like us to present to a group that is not a problem.
