This group will share resources about AI/LLMs (i.e. Artificial Intelligence/Large Language Models): campus guidance documents, plans for faculty workshops, and ideas for other ways of supporting faculty to teach in the age of AI. We will consider hosting a UC-wide remote conference to showcase pedagogies that incorporate/respond to AI/LLMs in ways that prepare students for this new aspect of the workforce and learning.

This group discusses challenges related to measuring student learning and how to leverage this data both on your campus and within your CTL. We share best practices for assessing learning and discuss questions like: How do we encourage instructors to collect and leverage meaningful evidence of student learning? How does your CTL leverage data from students to develop awareness of the student experience and demonstrate the impact of CTL activities? This group supports all CTLs engaged with learning assessment, especially those involved in educational research, curricular innovation, campus strategic initiatives, accreditation, and UC Compact goals. We engage mainly in informal “coffee chats” where folks can learn from one another. No formal commitment is expected nor required. Note: this group has “cross-listed” conversations with the UC Assessment Group and aims to build community across both educational developers and assessment professionals.

To this end, we will examine and collate existing literature on CTL evaluation, share practices, tools, and resources from our CTLs, identify best practices for “telling our stories” to varied audiences, and discuss ways we align CTL goals with campus and UC goals.

The Pedagogical Wellness working group will engage in conversations related to dismantling the culture of academia that too often focuses on competition, but rather creating a culture of care based on collaboration. In this working group, we hope to define the role of CTLs in pedagogical wellness, discuss how CTLs can model wellness internally and externally to the larger teaching and learning community, and develop action-based resources for our campuses.
