Teaching

I'm currently employed as an Associate Instructor at UC Riverside. As an instructor, I have taught:

  • Math 194 - Simplicial Complexes and Divisors (reading course)

  • Math 150 - Intermediate Analysis (lecture)

  • Math 46 - Introduction to Differential Equations (lecture)

  • Math 9C - Calculus III (lecture)

  • Math 7B - Calculus for Life Sciences II (lecture)

I have also worked as a teaching assistant in the following courses in which I have run discussion sections:

  • Math 131 - Linear Algebra (discussion)

  • Math 46 - Introduction to Differential Equations (discussion)

  • Math 31 - Applied Linear Algebra (discussion)

  • Math/CS 11 - Introduction to Discrete Structures (discussion)

  • Math 9A, 9B, and 9C - Calculus I, II, and III (discussion)

  • Math 7A and 7B - Calculus for Life Sciences I and II (discussion)

  • Math 6A and 6B - Introduction to Functions I and II (discussion)

  • Math 5 - Transformations and Symmetry (discussion)

I believe that math education should focus on developing a student's individual logic and problem solving skills in a way that will be useful to them regardless of their career path and I maintain that math should be a highly collaborative discipline. Hence, I try to teach in a way that encourages deep thinking on both an individual and collaborative level.

Some of my favorite teaching evaluations:

  • "Noble was one of the best TA's I have ever had for math. He truly cares about people being able to understand the concepts as well as being able to execute them to the best of their abilities. He was always approachable and always was available for help in homework and just general material help."

  • "Noble is a man of the people."
