Fall 2021 Stinger Staff

Iyana Mercado (Sr.)

Co-editor

Iyana Mercado is a senior at Forest Hills. She has been on the Stinger Staff for 4 years and now serves as a co-editor. Mercado has loved writing ever since she was a child and she hopes to pursue a degree in Journalism one day. Mercado is also an active member of Student Council at Forest Hills and she also plays on the women's soccer team. Mercado enjoys the freedom of writing different stories and learning new techniques. Mercado looks forward to this year on the Stinger staff and can't wait to see the amazing things it will bring.


Alexis Smith (Sr.)

Co-editor

Alexis Smith is a senior at FHHS. This is Smith's fourth year on the Stinger Staff. She is currently serving as Co-editor, and in the past years as a journalist and Media Manager. Smith enjoys editing pictures and creating posters for advertisement. She joined journalism to improve her writing and grammar, also to get more involved with the school. When Smith is not writing for the paper, she is working outside of school and spending time with friends and family. Smith is excited to bring amazing things to The Stinger.

Will Guion (Sr.)

Staff

Will Guion is a senior at Forest Hills. This is his second year being apart of the stinger staff. Some of his favorite things to write about would be anything dealing with sports. He joined The Stinger staff because of his interest in sports. Besides being in Journalism you can also see Guion around school being apart of the football team, being the announcer for the baseball games here and also being a active member in his community. He is pumped for another year of being on the staff.

Cheyenne Ruiz (Sr.)

Cheyenne Ruiz is a senior at FHHS. This is Cheyenne's second year on The Stinger Staff. She is currently a reporter and has been one since she started. Cheyenne enjoyed writing feature stories and Human of the Hive articles for the school's website. She joined The Stinger as a way to better her writing and people skills and to engage more with the FHHS students and staff. When Cheyenne is not found writing for the paper, she enjoys going out with her nephew and spending time with family and friends.

Stephen Herrera (Jr.)

Staff

Stephen Herrera is a junior at Forest Hills High School. He is currently serving his first year on the Stinger Staff. Herrera is currently a reporter and enjoys the ability to grow on his writing abilities. His favorite things to report on are the athletes and their particular sports. He joined The Stinger because he felt it would suit him best. He saw the ability to grow and get out his comfort zone when it came to interviewing people. When he is not found reporting, you can always find Herrera in the gym or on the field training to get better and better. Herrera is very excited to see what this class can offer him as he see's a list of endless possibilities.


Hunter Bradford (So.)

Staff

Hunter Bradford is a sophomore at Forest Hills High School. He is currently a reporter for the Stinger Staff and hopes to add to his experience. Bradford favors photography and writing for school events. He became a part of The Stinger in hopes to increase his skill with a camera and learning more about taking pictures. Bradford uses his free time to read several books and watching movies in his comfortable chair.

Stormie Evans (So.)

Staff

Stormie Evans is a sophomore and this is her first year on staff. She likes to talk to her friends, and socialize on her phone during her spare time.

Martha Antonsanti (Fr.)

Staff

Martha Antonsanti is a freshman at FHHS. This is Antonsanti´s first year in journalism. She enjoys journalism, but it and the challenge of deadlines. Antonsanti appreciates working with her classmates and looks forward to continuing the course in the future.

Jasmine Bolibol (Fr.)

Staff

Jasmine Bolibol is a freshman at FHHS. This is her first year on the Stinger Staff. She is currently serving as a reporter on her first year. Bolibol enjoys writing and taking pictures for the news site. She joined The Stinger to get out of her comfort zone and to try something new. Outside of The Stinger, Bolibol enjoys playing volleyball at Forest Hills High School. She is excited to experience her first year on staff.

Jai’zireya Mcneely (Fr.)

Jai’zireya "Ziggy" McNeely is a freshmen at Forest Hills High School. This is McNeely's first year on the Stinger Staff. She enjoys working with class mates for assignments She also enjoys photographic activity’s and interviewing because it gives her a chance to learn more about her classmates. Journalism has given her the opportunity to engage more with peers and Forest Hills staff as well. McNeely enjoys spending time with friends and being around positive energy.

Matt Collier

Adviser

Mr. Collier is in his 21styear of teaching. He has spent 19 of those years here at Forest Hills High School teaching mostly English III, but also Leadership Skills, Creative Writing, and Journalism. Since being at FH, Collier has coached JV boys basketball, men's and women's soccer, and been a Student Council Adviser.
