CTE has many different opportunities for students to gain real world, career experience before they even graduate high school.

Internships

• Students must have completed two courses in the same career cluster (i.e. Sports & Event Marketing I and Sports & Event Marketing II)

• Students must be a rising senior to apply (or currently a senior applying for second semester). For more requirements, click here.

Marketing Cooperative Education

Pre-Apprenticeships (HVAC & Manufacturing)

• Develop technical skills and get paid while finishing high school! Graduate high school with an AAS Technology Degree from SPCC.

• Students must be a rising senior. (Rising junior for HVAC).

• Students must be available to begin the summer before senior year (Manufacturing only).

Siemens Energy and Groninger USA partner together to form Apprenticeship Charlotte. They offer apprenticeship programs for students in their Junior or Senior year of high school. The program provides on-the-job training from qualified mentors to individuals interested in working in advanced manufacturing.   They train talented individuals and offer company-paid education that can be completed in a 4-to-6-year period, depending on the program track and the number of previous academic hours. They also recruit and train candidates for high-demand careers in technically oriented areas such as engineering, mechatronics, welding, and computer-integrated machining. The apprenticeship program is equivalent to a $175,000 scholarship for the selected candidates.
