Continue to practice small moment stories. Have your child tell you a true story from their life and stretch it across three pages (beginning, middle, and end). Remind them that in their story they should have pictures, labels, sentences that match their pictures, feelings, a setting, color. Also please continue to practice writing mechanics such as finger spaces between words, capital letters at the beginning of the sentence and lowercase letters everywhere else, and punctuation at the end. Remind your child that as they write their story, they should be at the same place on every page. A small moment story is zooming in on one event. Example: If they are writing about the park, have them pick one thing they did at the park. They can pick the slide: On the first page they might be climbing of the stairs, on the second page they are sitting down on the top of the slide, and the third page they are sliding down the slide. Example if they pick Christmas. One thing they might do at Christmas is decorate the tree. On the first page they might put the tree in the tree stand. On the second page, they put on the lights. The third page they added the decorations. I have included paper we use in our class so you can print at home.
