Welcome to iReady!
We wanted to provide you with another resource you can use at home with your child in reading and in math. Your child is familiar with the math portion of iReady, as they were required to get on for a diagnostic at the beginning and middle of the year. Your child may have received instruction through iReady if they scored below a certain number on their diagnostic, so some children may be a little more familiar than others. Reading is a new option iReady is providing. No child has ever done reading through iReady, but it is set up the same way as the math portion. The math lessons they receive are based on their middle of the year diagnostic, so lessons should already be available in math. Teachers will assign reading lessons based on the material we have covered in class as a review.
As the teachers, we are able to go in and see how your child is scoring on each of the lessons being provided. From there, we can push out other lessons based on their needs.
iReady, like all of the other resources being pushed out, are optional. If you choose to have your child complete iReady lessons, UCPS has advised to do 30 minutes at a time.
Here are directions for how your child can log-on to iReady. Attached is an iReady family guide you can use if you need additional help.
If you are having trouble or feeling overwhelmed with this resource, as always you can reach out to me with any questions.
