Humanities Core: 2024-2025
Hello everyone, I'm Rose Bui-Luu! As a first-year Biological Sciences major at UC Irvine, I'm passionate about healthcare in underrepresented areas and in my free time like to read (A LOT), go to the beach, and binge watch baking/cooking shows.
Before we wander into the depths of my page, I'd like to welcome you to my Digital Archive page for Humanities Core 2024-2025 where this year we'll be working with the theme of "Worldbuilding". Feel free to explore!
What are you doing right now? Or what are you not doing right now? Every action you carry out, is contributing to the concept of worldbuilding. Even if you're not doing anything, your lack of action still continues to contribute! Worldbuilding describes our ability as humans to interact with our environment in diverse ways, whether that interaction is imagining your environment or altering it. Here at UCI, the Humanities Core course advocates the act of worldbuilding, providing their students an outlet to think about and see our environment in different perspectives through the analysis of stories, texts, and images. As we embark on our journey of worldbuilding this quarter, we keep in mind how we can use what we learn from this theme to alter, reshape, recreate, and even reimagine our own worlds.
