In the 35th anniversary poster, artist Victor Ochoa pays homage to the women of Chicano Park, las "Adelitas del Parque. Women were central to the Chicano Movement, and especially in the creation of the park.

This Union Tribune article pays homage to the women of all ages that were central to the Takeover and the work to build Chicano Park. Even today, women still play a prominent role.
