Themes: Indigeneity; tradition; low riders
Victor Cordero created the poster for the 19th anniversary of Chicano Park. The poster depicts an indigenous man in a traditional headdress standing in a lowrider. On the right side of the poster painted on the pillar is the Virgin de Guadalupe Mural originally painted by Mario Torero and the Lomas Youth Crew. In the background is the heart of the park- the kiosko.
In 1988 Marilyn Mulford and Mario Barrera produced a documentary that told the history of Chicano Park and of the Logan Heights community's settlement in San Diego. Among the narrative are community members who fought for and lived through the battle to establish the park. These residents and activists shared their sentiment about their culture, la lucha, and their victory.
