About Us
SeaNails was founded in a biodesign class at the University of California, Davis — we were given a challenge to develop a product using bio-based materials in just 10 weeks. Thus, SeaNails was born.
We went on to compete at the international Biodesign Challenge competition held in New York City in late June 2023 where we placed top 8 out of 50+ teams from all around the world following our presentation at the Museum of Modern Art.

Sarika is pursing her Masters in Integrated Product Design at TU Delft in the Netherlands as part of the Innovation Design Engineering department.
Leslie S. Valdez (she/they)
CFO, Co-founder
Leslie is finishing her last year at UC Davis where she is majoring in Design and double minoring in Linguistics and Education.
Yuwei Chang (she/her)
Secretary, Co-founder
Yuwei graduated from UC Davis as a Biological Sciences major and is exploring interactive design at the graduate level.
