Construction of charging facilities

China’s charging infrastructure has developed rapidly, forming the world’s largest, most extensive, and most diverse charging infrastructure system. 

As of the end of June 2025, the total number of charging infrastructure units nationwide reached 16.1 million, with a 55.6% year-on-year increase, including 4.096 million public poles, and over 12.004 million private poles. The ratio of new charging piles to new energy vehicles is 1:3.0, indicating that the development of charging infrastructure can basically keep pace with the rapid growth of new energy vehicles.

As of December 2024, a total of 3.6 million public charging piles, including 1.6 million DC charging piles and 2 million AC charging piles were reported.
