Construction of charging facilities
China’s charging infrastructure has developed rapidly, forming the world’s largest, most extensive, and most diverse charging infrastructure system.
As of May 2025, the total number of charging infrastructure units nationwide reached 14.4 million, representing a 45.1% year-on-year increase, including 4 million public poles, and over 10 million private poles. The ratio of new charging piles to new energy vehicles is 1:3.0, indicating that the development of charging infrastructure can basically keep pace with the rapid growth of new energy vehicles.

As of December 2024, a total of 3.6 million public charging piles, including 1.6 million DC charging piles and 2 million AC charging piles were reported.
