4-H empowers young people to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults. El Dorado County 4-H has nearly 100 adult volunteers who engage youth members in a wide variety of learning and leadership experiences across eight club programs on the Western slope. Each club offers a unique variety of projects, facilitated by adult volunteers, to help youth members find their spark. Adults interested in sharing their time and talents with local youth are invited to join 4-H as volunteers!
The first step to enrolling as a 4-H adult volunteer is to submit an online application using ZSuite.
You will be asked to choose a Primary Unit. This is the club that you have chosen to be your 4-H home base. Select one for now, you can always change it later.
Adult Volunteers do not need to add a project. If you are going to be a project leader, your project will be added to ZSuite once your membership is made active and your Annual Project Plan has been submitted to the 4-H Office. Projects can be added at any time.
Once you click submit you will receive an email confirmation that your application has been received and is waiting for approval.
The second step to becoming an adult volunteer is to pay the annual membership fee.
Online: Card payments can only be accepted online with a non-refundable transaction fee of 4%. The total cost is $31.25. ($30 enrollment fee + $1.25 transaction fee)
Mail: Make checks payable to "UC Regents" and send to: UCCE Central Sierra 4-H YDP, 311 Fair Lane, Placerville, CA 95667
In-Person: Cash and check payments can be accepted at the 4-H Office (311 Fair Lane, Placerville) Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, or placed in the drop box after hours.

Each new 4-H Adult Volunteer needs to submit a brief interest survey. Tell us how you would like to participate in the 4-H program as a volunteer.
Every new 4-H Adult Volunteer must attend a virtual New Adult Volunteer Orientation (NAVO). The orientation is presented by county and state 4-H staff and takes a deeper dive into the foundations of 4-H and how you will be supported as a volunteer with the University of California.
The final step to becoming a 4-H Adult Volunteer is to complete a Live Scan background check for DOJ Clearance. Email the 4-H Office to request a pre-filled Live Scan Form and instructions.
Once you have completed your Live Scan, RECORD YOUR ATI# HERE for processing.
When Steps 1-6 have been completed, you will receive an email stating that your enrollment has been approved. Your 4-H membership is now active and you may participate in club and project activities as an adult volunteer!
If you are a 4-H Project Leader, your last step is to submit a project plan for each project that you will be leading. Once your project plan has been received, your project will be added to ZSuite for members to join. Email completed plans to ElDorado4H@ucanr.edu.
