El Dorado County 4-H features a robust animal science program that promotes entrepreneurship, animal welfare, careers in agriculture, and lessons for life. Youth can also experience non-animal projects such as home arts, technology, civic engagement, healthy living, and more! Countywide projects are open to all member regardless of which Primary Club you choose to attend.
Check out the current list of 4-H projects being offered for the 2024-2025 program year. Projects are added as adult volunteers complete their enrollment process so check back often. Each year new projects are added and others are discontinued depending on volunteer capacity and youth interests. There is no limit to the number of projects a member may participate in. Contact the club or 4-H Office for more information about project opportunities.
Adult volunteers don't have to be experts to be project leaders! Curriculum is available for nearly all projects, and any project can be offered to El Dorado County 4-H Members as long as there is an approved adult volunteer willing to lead it. The minimum requirement is to provide youth with 6 hours of project-based learning. Contact the 4-H Office for more information!
Rabbit Agility project members demonstrate their skills for residents at a senior living facility.

TRUE OR FALSE? You have to raise an animal to be in 4-H.
FALSE! 4-H strives to engage young people in three primary content areas: civic engagement and leadership; healthy living; and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
