Abstract: This session explores the role of lifelong learning in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education. Drawing from a case study at a Colombian university, the session examines how factors such as motivation, perseverance, self-regulation, and curiosity influence students' engagement in lifelong learning. The session will provide insights into the differences in lifelong learning tendencies among various demographic groups and suggest strategies to enhance these skills in EFL learners.

Three overlooked Spanish factors affecting ESL
Abstract: This session seeks to uncover overlooked Spanish language factors impacting ESL students’ success. Drawing on 30 years of experience as an ESL educator working with private executives and university groups, this study reveals how certain Spanish language concepts contribute to persistent mistakes in learning English. Through extensive diagnostic testing and personal observations, this research highlights that some errors students make have deeper, previously underestimated roots. Considering these factors makes it possible to reduce students' time spent understanding the most important differences and structures in English.

For its development, specific resources and methodologies are presented to adapt teaching to the needs of students, promoting inclusion and academic success. Although prototypical, this proposal offers a model applicable to real contexts that facilitates teachers to adopt inclusive and effective practices in the classroom.
