CMID PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This is an intensive cohort –based three semester program for post RN/BsN and PN to provide specialized Reproductive Health Services for women, neonates and their families. The program is delivered in a modular approach. The student must be a licensed practitioner with a minimum of three years’ experience to be eligible for this program. Laboratory sessions are built throughout the program of studies. Field practicum in second and final semester allows students to gain experiences in a variety of settings while allowing them to develop the competencies needed for the beginning level Midwife. On completion of the program, the individual is required by law to sit and pass the Nurses and Midwives Council of Belize Licensure Examination. 

CMID PROGRAM requirements

A licensed, Registered Nurse with a cGPA of 3.0 from a Bachelor degree in Nursing program and 2 years of experience. 

A licensed Nursing Assistant (Practical Nurse) with a cGPA of 3.0 and 2 years’ experience.
