BNUR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor Degree in Nursing is a four-year program that is intended for self-motivated students who wish to become competent nursing practitioners. This program provides students with the knowledge and understanding of nursing concepts and theories, and allows them to develop skills and attitudes consistent with those of a professional nurse. The program incorporates clinical experiences in all aspects of the health care delivery system, providing the opportunity for students to apply knowledge and become proficient in nursing skills.  It prepares the graduate for independent, professional practice in all aspects of health care delivery. In order to meet requirement of graduation students must earn a GPA of 2.0 with an average of 2.5 for professional core courses. The minimum grade for a professional core course is C. Also required is a grade of C for general core: Math and English courses and support core courses. 

BNUR PROGRAM requirements

Applicants must possess a GPA of 2.5 or above in Biology and Chemistry and 5 CXC passes at the general proficiency level in Biology, Chemistry, Math, English and any other subject relevant to the field to be considered for admission. 

bnur ADMISSION DEADLINES 

The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) only has one (1) intake per academic year in August. There is NO January intake. 

The University of Belize has three (3) application deadlines: (1) Early Bird – due last Friday in January (2) Regular – due last Friday in February (3) Last Call – due last Friday in May. However, all applicants to the Faculty of Health Sciences must apply by the last Friday in March.
