Reinforcement of Gender Norms: There are a number of ways in which gendererisms, or discriminatory behaviors, can be used in the classroom. This includes gendered expectations for students, biased educational materials, and the reinforcement of traditional gender norms. By their words, relationships, and methods of instruction, teachers may unintentionally reinforce gender stereotypes.
Stereotyping and Bias: By giving pupils specific responsibilities or expectations based on their gender, teachers may be unintentionally contributing to the perpetuation of gender stereotypes. For instance, boys may have expectations about behavior or academic achievement, whereas girls may receive subtle encouragement toward particular disciplines.
