Week 4 Highlights

This week at Art in Action Camp, our campers had an amazing time filled with creativity, exploration, and excitement! Here are the highlights of our action-packed week:

We kicked things off with a fun science experiment, where the kids tested their hypotheses to see if apples would sink or float. This hands-on activity sparked curiosity and scientific thinking. The campers were thrilled to discover different varieties of apples and learn about their unique properties.

Our budding artists dove into the world of pop art, focusing on painting the legendary Michael Jackson. The creative session was paired with a viewing of the classic movie "The Wiz," providing inspiration and fun as the kids expressed themselves through vibrant colors and bold designs. Kids also explored pop art even further adding their own spin to each piece!

In health class, we explored fruits in new and exciting ways. The kids enjoyed making delicious smoothies and even tried their hand at creating healthy brownies. This tasty and educational activity emphasized the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits.

Our dance sessions were full of energy and enthusiasm. The highlight of the week was a thrilling dance-off, where everyone showcased their best moves. It was a close competition, with each participant bringing their unique style and creativity to the floor.

This week's Wacky Wednesday theme was Tie-Dye, and the camp was a burst of colors and patterns. The kids had a blast creating their tie-dye masterpieces, adding a vibrant touch to the camp atmosphere.

Although it was a short week, it was jam-packed with fun and memorable activities. The kids left with smiles on their faces, ready for more adventures in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more highlights from Art in Action Camp!

Week 3 Highlights

This week at camp was an incredible journey into the world of art, focusing on the life and works of Frida Kahlo. Our young artists dove into the rich, vibrant world of Frida’s paintings, learning about her unique style and the stories behind her work. The children were truly inspired, creating their own masterpieces that reflected Frida’s bold colors and expressive subjects.

Throughout the week, the kids also engaged in various learning activities with their friends, enhancing their understanding of art and teamwork. One of the highlights was the creation of banners representing their teams, which they proudly showcased during our Hoorah event. It was a fantastic display of creativity and collaboration.

Adding to the excitement, we had a “backwards wacky day” where everything was turned on its head, bringing lots of laughter and fun. And of course, no week would be complete without our thrilling field trips, which continue to be a favorite among the campers.

Overall, it was a week filled with artistic exploration, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. We can't wait to see what the next week brings!
