Presentation materials undergo regular revisions to encompass the most up-to-date information. For the most current iteration, we advise obtaining the materials on or after the day of your lecture.
You may access the most up-to-date instructional resources used within the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) program here.
Medical students can choose to join any of the current research projects, as space and funding allows. Under our supervision, they will join an established research team and work under the leadership of either a graduate student or a psychiatry resident. Our research often involves original clinical research or literature reviews, with the expectation that those involved will contribute to the team effort in publishing a manuscript.
Tasks may include any of the following:
comprehensive literature review for background information for a clinical study or as part of producing a review paper
writing and editing a study protocol
writing or submitting applications to ethics (via ARISE) or for operational approval (via NACTRC)
creating data collection databases (e.g. REDCap)
data collection and analysis (quantitative or qualitative, including participant/patient interviews or focus groups).
Transcription of interviews and data coding
writing and editing a research manuscript
submitting a manuscript for publication
responding to editor comments as needed
participating in regular (ranging from weekly to monthly) Zoom-based team meetings
Interested students may read more about our current projects here.
Due to the very sensitive nature of trauma therapy, shadowing experiences for medical students are not available.
