Requirements

Responsibilities

President:

Responsible for overseeing the entire organization. They are the contact person with the University and handle group registration, events application and room booking. There is no teaching involved. Time commitment: 11~ Saturdays per term. Hours vary.

Treasurer: 

Take care of financial budgets, reimbursements and general bookkeeping. They provide a financial perspective regarding the activities of the club. For this position, knowledge of basic accounting would be useful but not required as you will be taught everything necessary for the position. There is no teaching involved. Time commitment: 11~ Saturdays per term. Hours vary.

Internal Operations Leader

Are responsible for the overall organization of the group. They help prepare for the weekly sessions, run registration, organize evaluations and club events, oversee administrative work, and complete other tasks as needed. There is no teaching involved. Time commitment: 11~ Saturdays per term. Hours vary.

External Operations Leader 

Are involved in the marketing aspect of the organization. External is primarily responsible for promoting SVCC as a group, and maintaining SVCC's social media sites. They will also be overseeing and responding to email inquiries in a professional and prompt manner. There is no teaching involved. Knowledge of of social media, graphic design, and web design would be an asset. Time commitment: 11~ Saturdays per term, about 4-6 hours a week. 

Lead Peer Language Mentor 

Oversee the Language Group Sessions and manage Group Facilitators. They conduct observations throughout the term and act as the main contact point for all language session volunteers. They also take part in some administrative decisions of the organization. Strong cultural knowledge and fluency in the language is required. Time commitment: 11 Saturdays per term, about 4-5 hours a week.

Are responsible for preparing and facilitating the language sessions. Cultural knowledge and fluency in the language is required. Time commitment: 11~ Saturdays per term, about 3-4 hours a week+preparation time
