Ph.D. Candidate

Research InterestsRose’s research focuses on sustainable project portfolio selection and the main goal of her research is to develop an integrated framework for the optimum construction project portfolio selection (PPS) based on three pillars of sustainability (economic, environmental, and social). Her research interests are Sustainable Construction, Decision Support Systems, Knowledge-based Decision Making (KBDM), Data Mining, and Construction Management
BackgroundRose has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering Systems Management (ESM) from the American University of Sharjah (AUS). She has 10 years of experience in the construction industry of Dubai, where her focus has been on project estimation, bidding, and contract administration.

Mohammad Masfiqul

Ph.D. Student

Research Interests Mohammad's research interest is achieving sustainability in construction by maximizing value and minimizing waste.
BackgroundMohammad is currently a graduate researcher at the University of Alberta. Before this, he spent 21 years as a military engineer and worked as a project planner and resource manager. His work scopes include project planning and scheduling, cost estimation and control, project scope management, etc. He has experience working on several mega projects in a multinational environment. He also has the skills to work in critical, time-sensitive conditions with multiple constraints.

BackgroundMahdis has gained 1.5 years of experience as an associate engineer in Apadana Sazeh Kermanshah in Iran, from 2021 to 2023. She also has been working as a teaching assistant and g`raduate research assistant since 2024 at the University of Alberta.

Mahsa Honari Kalateh

Research InterestsMahsa's research focuses on construction and demolition (C&D) waste management, specifically in finding innovative strategies to maximize the diversion of C&D waste from landfills. She is interested in exploring sustainable construction practices and the recycling and reuse of materials in the construction industry to reduce environmental impacts.
BackgroundMahsa holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tabriz. In 2023, she gained experience as an intern at a construction company in Iran. Currently, she is working as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alberta.
