- Share your previous experiences that you have had in healthcare or in your career
- Ask about further educational opportunities (shadowing, rounds, in-services, workshops)
- How you would like to receive feedback, how they prefer to give feedback, how often you would like feedback
- Discuss with your preceptor the types of patient population (i.e. diagnoses) as well as acuity, complexity, and nurse/patient ratio on your unit.
- Who to contact in case you are sick/absent
- Discuss possible goals for your learning plan
- Patient assignment expectations
- Preceptor alternates
- Preceptor schedule (ensure 350 hours)
