COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide students with substantive knowledge to address legal issues that generally confront emerging businesses (start-ups) and social enterprises at the early stage. Topics that will be covered include forms of business structures; legal regulation of social enterprises; traditional and non-traditional forms of financing an enterprise including crowdfunding; legal aspects of business operations like hiring, advertisements, offering internet and web-based services; and building and protecting intangible assets portfolio, including conducting intellectual property due diligence.
SPECIAL COMMENTS
Students in the Entrepreneurial Law course are strongly encouraged to register in LAW 589 Entrepreneurial Law Clinic (registration is by application and interview).
