METHOD OF EVALUATION


3 papers (of 7-10 pages max) worth 25% each and an in-class quiz at the end of the semester worth 25%. The quiz will be 100% open-book.



COURSE DESCRIPTION


The course is meant to introduce students to the regulation of energy utilities (broadly speaking: electricity and consumable gas). Students will learn the basics of the industry segments, the regulatory process and will be expected to be able to navigate through the basic regulatory application process. The course will also serve as a basic introduction to competition and Antitrust, especially as they relate to public utility regulation.
