Project Description

This project focuses on two small isolates of the border between Venezuela and Brazil: Arutani (ISO: atx) and Sapé (ISO: spc). Working with the last remaining speakers of these two languages and with legacy materials, my colleagues Thiago Chacon (University of Brasilia) and Francia Medina (Universidad Central de Venezuela) and I are engaged in documenting these two little-known languages as much as possible.
