Based on our personal experiences, current curriculums do not include Jane Colden in their teachings.
Though Linnaeus is taught to High School students in Alberta, Jane Colden is not mentioned despite her large contributions to Biology.
Jane Colden is not mentioned in the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
We are offered a Plant Biology class in which we briefly discuss Linnaeus's contribution to botany with binomial nomenclature.
In this class, we do not discuss that Jane Colden had a significant impact on plant classification with her recording of over 300 plant species and her discovery of 2 plant species.
