The Canadian Hub of the International Association for Society and Natural Resources (IASNR) welcomes conference participants on June 17-19, 2026, at the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta, located in Camrose, Alberta.
Our goal is to support Canadian scholars who are seeking a local and low-cost conference complement the IASNR conference hosted at Oregon State University (June 21-25).
To maintain a small-scale and low-cost event, we are limiting conference attendees to a maximum of 50.
The IASNR conference emphasizes local to global resource management issues, environmental issues, collaborative stakeholder processes, and the social impacts of natural resource management. It is also a venue for presenting cutting-edge research and engaging in productive discussions focused on the sustainable management of natural resources.
For this conference, we accept paper presentations and posters on themes related to the social context of resource management (including agriculture, forestry, energy, protected areas), from social science disciplines. We welcome practitioners, policy makers, scholars and students who seek to advance research, policy, and practice on global resource management issues.
More specifically, we are seeking research on theory and practice for addressing major social-environmental challenges while simultaneously tailoring solutions to local contexts.
