Gillian Robinson (elle avec des accords au féminin) est enseignante d’études sociales et d’immersion française depuis 16 ans et est candidate au doctorat en études des politiques éducatives à l'Université de l'Alberta, où elle est instructrice et coach pédagogique. Sa recherche englobe l'éducation anti-oppressive, avec un accent sur la théorie queer et trans et la violence sexuelle. Elle vise à améliorer les cadres politiques inclusifs queer pour de meilleurs résultats scolaires, tout en mobilisant le travail des théoricien·nes noir·es, autochtones et de couleur afin de comprendre comment la blanchité institutionnelle bloque le changement transformateur dans les écoles.

Gillian Robinson has been a classroom social studies and language teacher for sixteen years and is a PhD candidate of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta, where she is a researcher, an  instructor, and an instructional coach. Her passion lies in the work of anti-oppressive education, with a specific focus on queer and trans theory and sexual violence. She aims to improve queer-inclusive policy frameworks for better student outcomes, while mobilizing the work of Black, Indigenous, and feminist of colour theorists to understand how institutional whiteness blocks transformative change in schools. Her research interests include queer studies, anti-oppressive education, institutional whiteness, sexuality in schools, and sexual health education.
