The capital of Alberta, Edmonton is a bustling city and a haven for summer activities. Edmonton is also gateway to the spectacular Canadian Rockies and the national parks of Jasper and Banff (including the beautiful Icefields Parkway). It is a good idea to combine participation to the conference with a visit to the beautiful Canadian Rockies! There are tons of options for summer activities in the mountains, such as hiking, scrambling, climbing, mountain running, wildlife viewing... You may even be able to convince some of the local organizers to act as guides for a weekend tour of the mountains!
There are three ways to go to the featured hotels and the University of Alberta North Campus from the Edmonton international airport:
By taxi (the ride should cost about $45 to $55)
By shuttle, using Sky Shuttle ($18 one-way, $30 return)
By public transport - Edmonton Transit (Route 747) + LRT (Subway)
