teaching

I am teaching courses on topics in evolutionary biology, taxonomy, anatomy, conservation, and behaviour.

Current Courses

AUBIO 395 - Vertebrate Form and Function

Semester: Winter 2024

Block: 11

This course focuses on the structure, function, and diversity of vertebrates. It is a course for those interested in anatomy and taxonomy. More information on this course is available here.

Other Courses

AUBIO 390 - Animal Behaviour

Semester: Fall 2023

Block: 11

This course focuses on key concepts and methods in animal behaviour. Topics include learning, communication, foraging, habitat use, social behaviour, parental care, mating, and personality. It is a course for those interested in behavioural ecology. More information on this course is available here.

AUBIO 212/214 - Evolution and Biodiversity

Semester: Fall 2022 & 2023

Block: 11

This course focuses on the evolution of biological diversity, and particularly looks at the mechanisms responsible for evolutionary change. It is a course for those interested in evolutionary biology and population genetics. More information on this course is available here.

AUBIO 459 - Field Studies in Tropical Ecology and Conservation

Semester: Winter 2023

Block: 3

This course focuses on the ecology and conservation of tropical environments. This is a very hands-on course taught directly in the field in Costa Rica and should appeal to those with an interest in conservation biology. I am co-teaching this course with Dr. Anne McIntosh. More information on this course is available here and here. We are offering this course again in the Winter 2025.

AUBIO 350 - Conservation Theory and Biodiversity in Tropical Systems

Semester: Fall 2022

Block: 11

This course introduces students to key concepts in conservation biology and, as such should appeal to those intrested in biodiversity conservation. I am co-teaching this course with Dr. Anne McIntosh. More information on this course is available here. We are offering this course again in the Fall 2024.
