Par exemple, en marchant dans la rue du quartier Bonnie Doon à Edmonton, vous pouvez rencontrer quelqu'un avec un accent québécois, européen ou français de l'Afrique sub-saharienne !

Alberta is the province with the fastest growing francophone population outside of Quebec?
This growth is largely due to international and domestic migration. As a result, Alberta is home to an increasingly diverse range of French accents. For example, walking down the street in Edmonton's Bonnie Doon neighbourhood, you may meet someone with a Quebecois, European or French sub-Saharan African accent!

La composante "jeunesse" du projet explore comment les enfants d'expression française en Alberta apprennent et raisonnent à propos de la communauté (socio)linguistiquement diverse qui les entoure.
En particulier, nous nous intéressons à la façon dont les enfants apprennent à identifier et à différencier différents accents français et comment ils raisonnent à propos des personnes qui parlent ces variétés linguistiques.
French Diversity and Accents in Canada
The "youth" component of the project explores how French-speaking children in Alberta learn and reason about the (socio)linguistically diverse community around them.
In particular, we are interested in how children learn to identify and differentiate between different French accents and how they reason about the people who speak these linguistic varieties.
