CMVF3C DRAFT For Input: Common Data Standards for Military Education and Training (MET)
Sample Offering, Transfer Decision, Learner View
Context:
DRAFT Military Education and Training (MET) common data standards for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) MET offerings and transfer decisions are being developed in collaboration with CAF and institutions/organizations in jurisdictions across Canada. The standards are being informed by the Canadian Military, Veterans and Family Connected Campus Consortium (CMVF3C), CMVF3C Military Education and Training (MET) Working Group, PLAR Advisory Group, MVF3C Alberta Network, and current military education and training data standards shared by institutions/organizations.
Purpose:
The purpose of the MET Offering and Decision draft data standards is to facilitate greater ease and consistency of institution/organization and system level transfer credit recognition for MET prior learning. Data standards have been drafted based on identification of common fields/criteria and publicly available Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) sources that are currently being utilized in MET transfer and PLAR credit assessment and equivalencies in post-secondary education and training.
The draft MET Offering data standard would be used to inform a shared national data set of publicly available CAF MET offerings in Canada that can be maintained and accessed by all adult learning providers and utilized in transfer and PLAR credit processes.
The draft MET Transfer Decision data standard would be used to inform common elements for and data sharing regarding MET transfer credit decisions by institutions/organizations in Canada, supporting greater ease of MET learner mobility within and between jurisdictions.
