English Major
How are you feeling about graduating?
My graduation is bringing feelings of nervousness, uncertainty, but most of all, excitement. It’s been a great experience at the U of A for the past few years, which is what makes the next step so thrilling. There’s a whole world of possibilities out there, new experiences waiting to happen, new people to meet, and challenges that will help me grow in ways I can’t even imagine yet. It’s exciting to think about what’s ahead and all the opportunities to come!
What are some of the key things you learned at the U of A?
The biggest thing I learned at the U of A is that there is power in our differences. Throughout my time on campus, I had the opportunity to meet many people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and faculties. Each of them brought something unique to the table. Whether it was in group projects, student clubs, or casual conversations around campus, I saw how everyone was pursuing a different path while utilizing their unique strengths. This helped me understand that there’s not one “right” way to live, instead, we each have our own way.
Do you have any advice for current students?
Try new things, be open, and SAY YES. You never know what those experiences might bring. I wouldn’t be where I am today without taking opportunities I never imagined for myself. The things that feel outside your comfort zone might become the most meaningful parts of your journey.
