Research and Development Student
City of Edmonton
Fall 2024 (8 month term)
"Since starting my 8-month work Term at the City of Edmonton as a Research and Development Student with Safe Mobility, I have seen tremendous growth in my confidence as a working professional. My work involves carrying out research to support the advancement of the Safe Mobility Strategy, improving our understanding of road user behavior and values, and evaluating the public opinion of Vision Zero programs.
My advice for AWE students is to take small steps outside of your comfort zone every day and understand that those around you want you to succeed! Make sure to provide your own insight and knowledge that you’ve gained through your hard work at school - not every idea has to be groundbreaking. Build up your networking skills by reaching out to professionals in your field even if you don’t know them. Even though they may be uncomfortable, the additional things you do will have a positive impact moving forward."
Jaden is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Urban Planning, and a minor in Sociology. She is passionate about active transportation, affordable housing, and Edmonton’s green network.
