At UAH, we want your students to succeed. We offer many services to help students make the most out of their collegiate experience. Whether your student needs assistance writing a paper, searching for an on-campus part-time job, or is searching for ways to be involved on campus, UAH Student Service departments are here to help!

The UAH Bookstore, in partnership with Barnes and Noble, is a full-service bookstore that carries all course materials including textbooks, school supplies and general books, as well as spirit items and clothing, computer products and accessories, electronics, gifts, and convenience items.

The Barnes and Noble at the UAH Bookstore accepts all major credit cards as well as allowing students to charge to their university accounts. The bookstore also offers book buyback.

UAH Career Services offers a variety of support services to students and alumni, including resume building and review, interview preparation, networking assistance, and comprehensive education and career planning. They also serve as a repository for employment, internship, and co-op opportunities, connecting job seekers with federal, private-sector, and non-profit organizations.

Whether your student's goal is to be a valuable team member of a global corporation or the CEO of their own successful startup, Career Services has the resources to get them there.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) Help Desk provides computer and network support to the UAH community.

The UAH Counseling Center provides individual fee-based services and free group services that support students who are currently enrolled in at least 3 credit hours. The licensed professional counseling staff supports students with their emotional, social, and academic development during their college career, with a focus on holistic development using the student's individual strengths to help them enhance their college experience. The services provided are offered in a private and confidential setting where students can collaborate with counselors to identify needs and manage or resolve problems that cause emotional strife through a time limited treatment model. Off-campus referrals are offered when necessary. Free weekly groups are offered during each semester.

The Counseling Center also offers a FREE service for all UAH students called Therapy Assisted Online (TAO). This program offers additional support for students who may not feel that they are in need of face-to-face services at this time or who want additional support.

The Dean of Students Office (DOS) is available to assist students and family members in personal or family crisis The office strives to be proactive in student development and provides assistance, education, intervention, and referral services to The University of Alabama in Huntsville community.

The Dean of Students team has three primary responsibilities:

    • Provide assistance and support services to students, faculty, and staff of the UAH community

    • Manage the University's non academic misconduct systems

    • Support veterans, service members, dependents, survivors, and spouses through the Veterans Services Center.

Charger 360 provides a centralized way for UAH community members to report concerns and incidents or address observed difficulties that may impede a student's success at UAH.

The Charger 360 program is coordinated by the Office of the Dean of Students and uses Maxient software to manage the referral records. Through Maxient, the Dean of Students team is able to centralize reporting and record keeping on disciplinary, academic success and attendance, person of concern, and discrimination/Title IX issues. Maxient helps the office connect important information related to students' conduct and well-being to provide coordinated support for success.

UAH Dining Services is committed to meeting all of your student's campus dining needs. With multiple dining locations and a wide assortment of meal selections, students can pick exactly what is best for them.

Meal plans are required for all students at UAH and just like the variety of dining options, there are a variety of meal plans available for your student to select the one that is best for them.

Living on campus is required for all first-year students whose permanent residence is outside of a 30 mile radius of UAH. The Housing and Residence Life team is committed to providing a safe and inclusive living environment that inspires academic achievement, encourages personal development, celebrates diversity, and promotes student leadership & involvement within its six residence halls.

In order for students to receive a housing assignment, your student must be accepted to the university and submit a completed housing application and processing fee.

The Office of International Services (OIS) serves as a resource for international students, faculty, and staff at UAH. Through its three support entities – the English as a Second Language Program (ESL), the Office of Study Abroad, and the Office of International Student & Scholar Services – the OIS promotes campus and community internationalization; administers the university’s study-abroad and international exchange programs; oversees the recruitment, admission, and retention of international students, scholars, and faculty; provides intensive English language instruction; and facilitates the process of hiring international scholars and employees.

Our Military and Veterans Programs Office serves military veterans, service members, and their dependents during their time as students at UAH. The Military and Veterans Programs Office provides the following services:

      • Certifies Federal GI Bill benefits

      • Processess ANGEAP benefits

      • Assists students with Federal Tuition Assistance approvals

Every member of the UAH community who operates and parks a vehicle on campus must register their vehicle and have a current UAH parking decal. The annual fee for the decal is $140 and must be displayed at all times while on campus. Vehicle registration and payment can be done online at my.uah.edu or in person at the UAH Intermodal Facility

The UAH Police Department requires that students register their bicycle. There is no charge for this service.

All new students must provide an immunization form signed by a healthcare provider showing proof of vaccinations before the first day of class, including MMR's and completed tuberculosis screening.

If your student is living on campus, they must also provide proof of meningitis vaccination within the past five years.

The Student Health Center provides a variety of health-care services for students including treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, immunizations, preventative health-care services, health counseling, flu shots, and testing for illness.

Your student can purchase a Student Injury and Sickness Plan through UAH. Vision and dental insurance are only available for purchase the first 45 days of each fall semester.

University recreation features an all-inclusive health and fitness center including group exercise, fitness, and aquatics.

Students who are enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours during fall & spring semesters) receive membership at no additional cost. Students who are enrolled on a part-time basis are charged a discounted rate for membership.

To complete membership, your student will need to visit the University Fitness Center with a photo ID and detailed semester schedule.

Intercollegiate athletics mean much more to UAH than just the excitement of competition. Fielding teams in 15 NCAA Division II sports not only helps build Charger pride, but it also provides a sense of community through the Blue Crew, a student group that fills student sections at athletic events.
