Laboratory Director
Dr. Krenn is an assistant clincal professor of psychology and director of the SAFE lab at UAH. Dr. Krenn's focus is on giving organizations the research needed to empower employees and maximize their satisfaction. Prior to coming to UAH as a full time professor, Dr. Krenn had a decade long career in local and federal government. In his time with NASA, Dr. Krenn helped to improve fairness, well-being, and motivation within the agency and ran the agency's barrier analytics program. Prior to working at NASA, Dr. Krenn spent 2 years working as a personnel assessment specialist for Mobile County Personnel Board. Dr. Krenn's research interests focus primarily on predictors and outcomes of employee well-being and fairness within organizations. Specifically, he is interested in the topics of workplace aggression, work discrimination, cognitive biases in organizations, and work-life balance. Outside of work, Dr. Krenn enjoys performing and assisting with community theater shows and seeing live music.
Current Graduate Students
Sylvia earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master's in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Her previous research examined how media influences child development and how diversity shapes experiences within Utah universities. Now working as a Production Manager, Sylvia aims to build a career in operations and analytics, integrating research insights with data-driven strategy.
Hannah earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with Athens State University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Psychology. Their research interests primarily focus on cognition and psychosomatic wellness. Currently, Hannah is working in misinformation-based research and is centering their thesis around interventions for conspiracy belief. In future efforts, they hope to contribute to research that encourages outcomes of increased individual/social awareness and metacognition.
Lindsey is currently a PhD student in Applied Experimental Psychology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She earned a BA in Psychology/Sociology with minors in Business and Management in 2024 as well as an MS in Experimental Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 2026 from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her primary research interests including how intersectionality, stereotype threat, discrimination, and other social dynamics can impact lived experiences of the imposter phenomenon within the workplace. Lindsey also serves as an instructor of record for introductory psychology at UAH. In the future, she wishes to continue working in the realm of higher education as a researcher. Outside of school and work, Lindsey enjoys watching movies, thrifting, and hanging out with her cat, Cheeto.

Alaina Kelly is a Master’s student in Psychology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Her research interests include fan culture, parasocial relationships, gender and sexuality development, and discrimination. She aims to become a professor conducting research in developmental and social psychology.
Undergraduate Research Assistants
Zachary is a Junior at UAH. He is majoring in Psychology with a minor in UX Design. Zachary's interests lie in Human Factors Psychology and Human/Technology integration. He aims to develop his research skills in the pursuit of a graduate degree and plans to apply his knowledge toward Human/Systems applications.
Scarlett is a Sophomore currently attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is pursuing a BA in Psychology, as well as a minor in Women's Gender/Sexuality Studies, with plans to graduate in 2027. She later plans on pursuing a doctorate in order to become a fully licensed Clinical Psychologist, with a focus on social and/or cognitive psychotherapy. Scarlett is interested in research to better understand how we can evaluate and remedy the trauma people face within different socioeconomic statuses, as well as the different types of discrimination people are subject to based on the intersectional aspects of their identity. She hopes to one day be able to provide therapy to those who may not normally have the opportunity while working at different non-profit organizations.
Nathaniel is a sophomore majoring in psychology and sociology. He hopes to pursue a carrer in the field of forensic psychology in the future. In his free time, he enjoys taking pictures, reading, and writing.
Keirah is a Junior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, graduating with her class in 2027. She is majoring in Business Management with a minor in Psychology. She is interested in exploring the relationship between psychology and business, with a focus on how principles from both fields can be used to improve workplace interactions, communication, and overall organizational functioning. Her goal is to better understand human behavior in professional environments and apply that knowledge to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and the employee experience.
Marwa is a senior student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Psychology with a Minor in Interdisciplinary Cognate. Her interests for research methodology lies in finding better treatment approaches based on conducting and evaluating clinical research data. Marwa plans to later on to pursue a graduate degree in order to become a Clinical Research Psychologist which will be focused on Mental disorders and finding solutions to better improve their treatment.
Brandon is a senior student at UAH, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. His interest is in how psychological research can be applied to IT organizations to help guide them towards a generative culture. He aims to be a tech consultant.
Sesugh is currently a junior at UAH, studying Psychology with a minor in UX Design. His academic focus centers on Human Factors Psychology and the ways people interact with technology, aiming to apply this in supporting America's Warfighters through systems designed with the user in mind.
Heather is a senior Psychological Science major at UAH with an A.S. in Biological Science and a background in healthcare. Her research focus is on how leadership dynamics influence morale, well-being, and organizational functionality. She plans to pursue graduate training, where she hopes to contribute to research and policy development in order to help reform leadership structures and strengthen ethical practices in healthcare environments.
Sylvia is a Sophomore at UAH. She is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a Minor in Philosophy. She hopes to gain experience in research that will help her pursue a graduate degree. Her interests lie in research/experimental psychology.
