FOOD TRUCK GUIDELINES FOR RSO EVENTS

The University has created this document to provide an overview of departmental and insurance requirements that have been established to protect the business and legal interests of the University, and most importantly, the safety of our students as it relates to the presence of food trucks on campus.

Food Trucks may only come to campus when invited, and when all necessary paperwork has been completed by RSOs and approved by the appropriate Student Affairs administrators.

INSURANCE

Food Trucks are required to carry Commercial General Liability (“CGL”) insurance that meets the following specifications:

  • Each Occurrence – Premises/Operations & Personal Injury $1,000,000

  • General Aggregate $2,000,000

  • Fire Damage Liability $100,000

The University must receive a Certificate of Insurance prior to the scheduled event. The COI should be uploaded HERE. The certificate of insurance must include the following elements:

  • Insured Entity

  • Insurance Carrier(s)

  • Policy Effective and Expiration Dates

  • Policy Number(s)

  • Policy Limits

  • Cancellation Notice Provision (minimum ten (10) days for non-payment of premium, minimum 30 days otherwise)

  • Additional Insured and Waiver of Subrogation Language as Follows: “The Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama for and on behalf of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, its individual trustees, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives are included as an additional insured on the Commercial General Liability policy. Unless precluded by law, all policies waive the right to recovery or subrogation against the Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama, its individual trustees, officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives.”


Invited food trucks must also be regularly inspected by the Madison County Health Department and produce documentation of a passing health score.

LOCATIONS

Food trucks are allowed to be hosted by RSOs in the below approved spaces ONLY.

  • Lot G5 (WIL, I2C, BAB)

  • Lot G9 - Space between G9 & G10 (MOR)

  • Lot G15 (SPR)

  • FSR (Fraternity & Sorority Row)

  • W27 (CGP)

  • W34 (ENG)


Food trucks may not block sidewalks, ADA ramps & access, fire lanes or streets, traffic, and/or university operations.


REGISTRATION

All requests for food trucks must be submitted for consideration through Charger Connect no less than 2 weeks from event date.


Once the event has been approved in Charger Connect, a UAH EVENT PARKING REQUEST FORM must be completed and emailed to parking@uah.edu.
