After adjuncting for three years, I landed an amazing tenure track position. Since then, I've realized that being able to transition out of precarity (by luck, grace of God, or mercury not being retrograde that day) gives one a perspective on research, teaching, and service that is not often reflected in the academic blogosphere. So rather than making yet another /n long Twitter thread, I created this space to share the insights that come from having a precarious perspective on academia.
