On this course we will consider a range of psychological issues which are pertinent to living in our society. The tutor will present a question in the context of psychological theory for 30 minutes, followed by a 10-minute break, after which the group will reconvene to discuss issues arising. Examples may include: What do we mean by ‘intelligence’? or What causes us stress?
Please note that some topics are from areas broadly covered in previous courses, but there will be a different focus.
No previous knowledge is required for this course and all are welcome.

This is a repeat course. It offers an explanation of culture in anthropological terms, awareness-raising of cultural differences, culture contact, cultural change and a closer look at our own culture(s). Cultures drawn on will be Thai, Chinese, French, Spanish, Greek and English. Group members will have opportunities, if they so wish, to question and add comments and examples from their own experience.
