A monthly meeting in the afternoon of each third Monday of the month, commencing in March 2022 and ending with a visiting speaker in October 2022. Mostly private gardens will be visited and often we will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as to wander around the gardens. Visits mostly will end with tea and cake. Travel to each of the gardens will need to be arranged by the participants. Participants will be responsible for paying the charge that the garden owner requests (mostly between £5 and £8 per person) . The final session on 17 Oct 2022 will be held in The Friends’ Meeting House (2–5 p.m.). The cost of a speaker will be shared by participants.

This follows on from a taster session during the summer. We can decide what we want to tackle when we meet! We will learn the basics of needle turn appliqué (rather than by machine) which is an ornamental needlework technique in which fabric is stitched to a background to form a picture or pattern. Come and sit by the fire and sew through the winter months!

Worried about speaking at committee meetings, giving a eulogy, putting passionate beliefs across or in any other public arena?
This eight-week course will help remove that worry. It will increase confidence and teach skills enabling us to make different speeches, in a relaxed environment. I have 40 years’ experience and will give maximum assistance, before and during the course. We will all feel the adrenaline of impromptu speaking and enjoy the skill of formal speeches!
There is a half-term break in February.
