With a total occupancy of 170 students, Brooks Crossing Apartments was the result of a collaboration between the University of Rochester and a private developer, which gives the location a unique and modern feel. Its location next to Genesee River also allows for truly wonderful views. As can be ascertained from its name, it functions like Riverview in that it provides apartment-style accommodations. Unlike Riverview, however, it also features 1 person apartments on top of 2, 3, and 4 person options. It also has a very convenient location that allows residents easy access to several local establishments as well as immediate access to a bridge over Genesee River that will take students straight to campus. All this, coupled with fully-equipped kitchens, private bathrooms, and air conditioning makes Brooks a more than welcome addition to student housing options.
In addition to the towers, Southside living area has a number of maisonettes available to juniors and seniors. They feature spacious kitchens and living rooms that come with a table and couch. Each of the maisonettes house two people, and all of them have exterior entrances (meaning they are all on one “floor”). There’s no laundry facilities specially for them, so you will have to go outside in order to get your laundry done.
Located right across the Genesee River within view of campus, Riverview Apartment Complex is reserved for juniors and seniors and features 2-4 person apartments with full kitchens, air conditioning, and some of the loveliest views the University of Rochester and its various housing options have to offer. That’s not even accounting for its proximity to historic 19th Ward, a location with a passionate community and loads to do and see. Maximum occupancy is 500 students, with its several buildings denoted by letters. The quaint origin of its name (it has a VIEW of Genesee RIVER) perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere.
