Users were generally satisfied with the site. Nearly all users responded positively, except for the one user who received a Verbal Health score which indicates "Medium Risk" for Parkinson's Disease. This negative rating is understandable, because this user had just received some worrying news leaving him unsatisfied. This could potentially cause problems in the future for the site. If users grow to dislike the site due to receiving negative information it could become unpopular. This could lead to distrust from potential users, which would severely undermine the information the site provides.
One of the priorities for the project was to ensure that our website would be very easy to use. This is because older people are at a much larger risk for Parkinson's Disease, and would benefit greatly from being able to use the site. Fortunately, 100% of respondents found the site to be easy to use. All eight users who responded to the survey were 18-25 years of age, so this does not necessarily mean that the site could be easily picked up by older people. This response from users shows that our goal of an easy to use site was achieved.
Another priority of the project was to keep the User Interface very simple and easy to understand. This was done by only putting necessary information on the screen and making the most important parts large. Once again, this was done to provide more usability for older individuals who may be at risk for Parkinson's Disease. In similar fashion to the previous question, 100% of users found the UI to be easy to understand. While 18-25 year old people are more likely to easily understand a UI this is still a very promising response.
The need-finding survey sent out early in the project found that nearly all users wanted to spend less than 5 minutes on the site. The average visit to the site is well below this time, so this was a success. The reason 25% of respondents said the site is not fast is likely because of the relatively long load time required for speech analysis. Nearly half of a users time on the site is generally due to this load time. Despite this, using the site still only takes a couple minutes!
All of the users who received a "Low Risk" Verbal Health Score responded that they did not plan to contact their doctor due to the results of the test. This makes sense because they have no reason to contact their doctor if they are not at risk. The one individual who was at "Medium Risk" responded "I don't know." This is a good sign, because when the user was warned that they are at risk they considered contacting their doctor. The website can only be useful if users who are at risk contact their doctor so they can receive a real diagnosis and begin treatment if necessary.
