My determination to get things right is relentless
My ability to talk with patients lead to quick case acceptance
My ability to be self-critical often lead me to learn quickly from mistakes
I found that I work well with teams and can be an effective communicator
I stand up for what I believe to be right
Creating a better work/life balance
I found that I am often times too eager to jump into things instead of being methodical, leading to wasted time
As with most of my class, my speed is not where it needs to be
I found that I can do a far better job at delegating tasks
I need to be more organized with how I carry out tasks and procedures
I am so truly grateful for the many relationships and wisdom that I have gained from my time at Dugoni. I have soaked up every ounce of knowledge from each and every instructor, classmate, and team member. So, after my departure, I plan on continuing that practice of learning from others. Having joined my local dental society I have already begun to network with local professionals to seek guidance in all aspects of dentistry and beyond.
Moreover, the internet is the great equalizer. Now, there is plenty of bad information on the internet but there is also loads of good. I have networked with many different dental professionals including, Dr. Ivan Chiccon ('13), Founder of Implant Ninja where I have almost completed his free course on Implant Dentistry. He is but a mere example of the literal hundreds that I have connected with online.
I would not be entering into a practice that I did not think had wonderful opportunities for growth. Having spoken extensively with Dr. Bogle, I am leaning on his experience and expertise to be a watchful eye and guiding hand while treating our practice's patients.
For 3 years, I heard extensively about the necessity to be a "life-long learner" and it has started to click as to why. As dental professionals, we are entrusted by our patients to be exactly that - professionals. It is my ethical and moral duty to continue to strive to be better and further my skills. For 3 years a foundation has been laid. Now it is time to build.
Thank you to all that have helped along the way for it is the people that have made the difference.
