Users and Stakeholders
Stakeholder and User: Gregory, a stroke survivor who struggles with proprioception, which has affected his ability to measure ingredients properly while cooking.
Stakeholder and Client: Courtney Celian, an OT with ShirleyRyan AbilityLab who works with Gregory on his recovery.
Stakeholder and Secondary User: Susannah, Gregory’s wife and primary caretaker who helps him with cooking.
User(s) Profile
Gregory
Radiologist
Stroke survivor
Paralyzed in left arm
Trained Chef
Illustrative User Scenario
Gregory wants to be able to cook dishes (soups, etc.) like he used to before he experienced his stroke and its effects. This required measurements of liquids, potentially hot. Due to his loss of proprioception Gregroy is unable to judge quantities of liquids. This requires the assistance of his wife Susannah. Gregory wishes to be more independent in the kitchen, which requires a product to help him measure.
Project Requirements - Needs Identification, Metrics, and Specifications
This is the project requirements section where we will identify needs for our design, metrics and units for each need, an ideal value for each metric and an allowable/acceptable value that will still work for the design. These values are not yet set because we still have multiple mockups and have not yet chosen one design to focus on, so the values will vary from mockup to mockup.
