For my portfolio, I chose my Chapter 3.5 Notes Payable and Interest homework. This assignment shows my ability to apply accounting concepts to real-world financial scenarios by calculating interest, recording journal entries, and understanding how notes payable influence business operations. Completing it strengthened my knowledge of how financial decisions connect to other areas such as cash flow management and long-term planning. It required me to interpret numerical data and convert it into useful financial information to solve business problems. While I worked on the assignment independently, class discussions with peers provided opportunities to collaborate and share different problem-solving approaches. This work also reflects responsible business practices, as accurate financial reporting is essential for transparency and ethical decision-making. The skills I practiced, including precision in calculations, professional formatting, and clear communication, will be valuable in future roles in accounting, finance, and business management.
