10 Steps to Create a Screencasting Tutorial Using Camtasia
Get familiar with JASP and the assignment. Practice the assignment a couple of times to ensure I know where the panes are, which checkboxes to click, that the software works as intended in my laptop, etc.
Plan the video by sketching a rough storyboard in google docs.
Write the script for the video.
Practice readings and do some weeding. Edit and cut some of the words that seemed to stop the flow, etc.
Create slides in Canva for the agenda, “what is JASP”, and outro.
Record the script in Audacity. Rehearse several times while recording, being mindful of the flow, the words that I stumble with, etc. Then edit and cut some more until it seems to have a good conversational tone.
Enhance the recording in Adobe Enhance.
Screencast the whole process. Practice screencasting the process a few times to ensure that I can control the flow of the recording, the smoothness of the mouse movements, etc. Make sure to record in mute to ensure there is no sound coming from me typing, etc.
Export the recording, the slides, and the audio to Camtasia.
Edit so that the audio and the video are synchronized.
