Theatre Tech Club:
Students in Theatre Tech Club support Larkin shows and events by helping behind the scenes. This can include building sets, scenic painting, and working with lighting, sound, rigging, and video equipment. They will have opportunities to gain hands on experience with modern theatrical equipment & shop tools (additional permission will be needed to use some power tools). Additionally, students may have opportunities to attend the Illinois High School Theatre Fest (after their 1st year in Tech Club) and other theatre related field trips.
Participation:
The following is required of anyone signing up for Theatre Tech Club:
Students must be passing 5 classes and off of LOP to participate.
Students must attend one info meeting.
Students will need to complete the safety lessons
Students must turn in a District Liability form signed by a Parent or Guardian.
Students must read and engage with the weekly informational club email.
Additionally, Students are expected to participate as they are able in afterschool meetings and sign-up to provide crew for events and shows. Meetings will include event set-up and changeovers, scenic creation, classroom style learning, analysis of theatre, film, television, behind-the-scenes production, as well as general auditorium maintenance, cleaning, and organization. These meeting dates and times are announced in the weekly informational email and will vary, depending on the auditorium schedule for the week. Events and show sign-up will be posted outside the Black Box theatre, and positions will vary depending on event needs.
