What exactly is Musical Theatre Revue (MTR)?
What exactly is Musical Theatre Revue (MTR)?
Musical Theatre Revue is an IHSA Drama Competitive Activity in which 3-6 students present a 10-minute musical selection(s) from a published score(s) written for musical theatre. No live music may be used, only pre-recorded tracks without background vocals. No technical elements may be used such as costumes, set, lighting, props, etc. and may only use a table and up to 6 chairs. The performance will be recorded and submitted for judges to critique. There are no live performances for IHSA MTR.Â

The story: Diana seems to have an ideal life. She is educated, well-off, and happily married with two teenage children. But it soon becomes clear that all is not as it seems. Next To Normal explores themes of mental illness and grief through differing perspectives, showing how far from perfect your average suburban family may be.
